Sometimes
the expedition comes to SAGE, and not the other way around. In this
case, SAGE invited Pat McDonough, Pulitzer Prize nominated author
of Without Keys: My 15 Weeks with the Street People,
to share her experiences with the school. Through first-hand account,
student presentation of research, and role-playing, SAGE students
have come to a deeper understanding of the complex issues surrounding
homelessness and hunger around the world – a unique perspective
that, short of experiencing it themselves, most people rarely attain. |
